Stabilised Timber

Timber is at the heart of our products, and we use only the highest quality timber window materials sourced from sustainably managed forests. At Brookeswood we harness the natural qualities of wood to create exceptional timber windows and doors that bring luxury, warmth, character, and durability to your home.

We are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. That’s why all our timber is sourced from legally and sustainably managed forests. This ensures that while we craft products that meet the highest quality standards, we are also protecting and preserving the environment for future generations. You can trust that the timber used in our windows and doors is not only beautiful but also ethically sourced.

For our Hardwoods, we use Stabilised Timber, an advanced material that offers superior performance over traditional solid timber sections.

The advantage of using Stabilised Timber is its resistance to common wood movement. Stabilised Timber is created, by bonding three layers of the same timber together. Bonded collectively with a PU glue, under a wood press, the timber is held in position. The planks are positioned with opposite facing grains, the solution of stabilising timber, reduces any chance of the timber moving over time.

At Brookeswood, we use timber sourced from sustainably managed forests, meticulously selected to be free from knots, plaits, and stains. This attention to detail eliminates potential weak points, preventing water ingress and ensuring a long-lasting, smooth, and uniform surface finish. That means our timber not only offers a flawless appearance but also maintains its shape and integrity over time, minimising the risk of warping or splitting for exceptional durability.

Premium Timber Which Is Sustainably Sourced

Red Grandis

A versatile hardwood known for its durability and smooth finish; Red Grandis is ideal for a wide range of applications. It’s naturally resistant to insect attack and fungal growth, making it a superb timber for external windows and doors. Its grain configuration is much like that of European Oak, making it a great lower cost, higher-performing alternative.

Accoya

Accoya sets an unrivalled benchmark for external joinery. It’s highly durable, resistant to any movement and an incredibly sustainable wood. Accoya is treated by a natural chemical process to enhance its structure, improving its stability and resistance to decay, making it an excellent choice for demanding environments, such as coastal locations, or advanced weather areas.

European Oak

Renowned for its beautiful grain, golden colour and natural strength, European Oak, was originally known as the ‘go-to’ timber for external windows and doors. European Oak in today’s world should only be used when the importance of its upkeep is understood. Oak is perfect for a timeless, elegant appearance, stained in a translucent finish to emphasise its golden charm, but it does require regular care.
