We are thrilled to welcome another new apprentice to the Brookeswood team – Daniel Coleman.
He is currently in his second year of an apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery, and we’re delighted that he has joined the business at such an exciting time.
His arrival strengthens our growing team as we continue to invest in the next generation of skilled joiners.
Investing in the Next Generation of Craftsmanship
Traditional joinery skills are at the heart of what we do.
Every timber window, door and staircase we create relies on the knowledge, precision and attention to detail of our skilled team. Sharing that expertise and preserving these traditional skills is incredibly important to us, helping us maintain the exceptional standards of craftsmanship we are known for.
An apprenticeship provides the opportunity to combine formal learning with invaluable hands-on experience. Working alongside our experienced team, Daniel will continue developing his practical skills while gaining first-hand experience of the craftsmanship involved in creating bespoke timber products.
From understanding the characteristics of different timbers to learning traditional joinery techniques and working with modern manufacturing methods, there is a huge amount of knowledge involved in becoming a skilled joiner.
Learning from Experience
One of the real benefits of bringing apprentices into our workshop is the opportunity for knowledge to be shared directly between generations.
Our experienced joiners have developed their skills over many years, and by working alongside them, our apprentices can learn not only the technical aspects of the trade but also the care, patience and attention to detail that define exceptional craftsmanship.
Neil Brookes, Director at Brookeswood, said:
“We’ve always believed that the skills behind traditional joinery need to be passed on. An apprenticeship gives young people the opportunity to learn the trade properly, working alongside experienced craftsmen and developing their skills through real projects. We’re really pleased to welcome Daniel to the team and to continue investing in the next generation of joiners.”
Building Skills for the Future
While we are proud of the traditional skills behind our craft, timber joinery continues to evolve.
Today, we combine time-honoured craftsmanship with Modern Timber Technology to create bespoke windows, doors and staircases that deliver the quality, performance and longevity our customers expect.
Developing talented young craftspeople is an important part of ensuring those skills continue to thrive. By supporting apprentices within our workshop, we can help preserve the knowledge and techniques of traditional joinery while giving the next generation the experience they need to take the craft forward.
We’re delighted to have Daniel on board and look forward to seeing him progress as part of our team.
