The Beach House
Type of Project: Renovation
Location: North Wales
Customer: Mr & Mrs B.
This was an interesting project from the start as the property was actually located literally on the beach with spectacular views of the bay and could only be accessed at low tide. Our clients had purchased this beautiful white cottage with a view to renovating and extending it to become a unique family holiday home.
As illustrated by the before images, the extension was built onto the side of the original building and almost doubled the size of the original cottage The front of the extension has French doors and sash windows fitted together in combination to take full advantage of the views over the bay.
The project consisted of eleven of our traditional sliding sash windows, colour matched to Farrow & Ball Wimbourne White, two casement windows also in Wimbourne White, two sliding sash windows matched to Farrow & Ball Railings, a pair of French Doors and a back door also matched to Farrow & Ball Railings. The combination of the two colours worked beautifully with the White stone and the beach setting.
The specified timber was Accoya selected for its superior performance and ability in challenging situations, bearing in mind some of the extreme weather conditions that will be experienced in a sea front position.
All of the hardware supplied was in oil rubbed bronze, which again perfectly enhanced the windows and doors and style of the beach house.
