Handcrafted Heritage Sash Windows, Casement Windows and French Doors
With such a beautiful building dating back to 1624, we were very aware of the responsibility involved in a renovation like this and the importance of preserving the original look of the heritage sash windows within this elegant house.
The hall is a quintessentially English country house and has Jacobean influences in the design, with a symmetrical front façade, featuring large bay windows with decorative stonework. The columns and arches incorporated into the stonework and the ornate style of the chimneys and eaves are what really makes this property stand out.
How We Delivered
This was a big project, and we split it up into four individual phases and planned it carefully. We wanted to complete a set number of designated rooms per-phase to minimise disruption for the family.
The project consisted of the four feature bay windows on the front elevation, sixteen individual sash windows, seven casement windows and four sets of French doors. The selected timber was Accoya, chosen for its stability and durability. The windows and doors were designed to match the existing ones using modern high-tech materials and processes. The paint is a 3 coat micro-porous finish applied in our spray shop under controlled conditions and is matched to Farrow & Ball Dimity which blends perfectly with the exterior colour scheme of red brick and natural stone.
The sash windows are based on our traditional ‘Heritage’ design with a curved or shaped head, to sit perfectly within the decorative stone frame.

The authentic appearance of this beautiful home has been preserved, and at the same time modern day timber technology has been introduced to keep it looking good for years to come and to be enjoyed by many generations.
